Constructed and completed by the Fatih Municipality, the Association of Heads of Neighborhoods of Fatih General Center building has been opened with a ceremony.

Attending the opening ceremony, GNAT Deputy President Ahmet Aydın said that Turkey is gradually getting stronger and added: "According to them, Turkey is going a bit too far, because Turkey is getting stronger as a result of the works it has conducted".

Built by the Fatih Municipality in Molla Gürani Quarter, Selim Sabit Street, the opening for Fatih Association of Heads of Neighborhoods General Center Building has been made with a ceremony.  The opening ceremony was attended by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Deputy President Ahmet Aydın, Ak Party Istanbul Member of Parliament Ahmet Hamdi Çamlı, Fatih Mayor Mustafa Demir as well as NGO Representatives in the districts and heads of neighborhoods. Following the ribbon cutting ceremony, protocol members walked through the opened building and obtained information about the works to be carried out in the Fatih Association of Heads of Neighborhoods.

TURKEY IS GOING A BIT TOO FAR ACCORDING TO THEM

Attending and speaking during the opening ceremony for the Fatih Association of Heads of Neighborhoods Building, GNAT Deputy President Ahmet Aydın mentioned that Turkey will protect all the oppressed in the world, and said: "Turkey has always stood by the side of any victim, any oppressed regardless of whom he/she is against with or how powerful they are. Turkey has been a strong voice, a global actor, and said that it will not be a pawn in all the games devised in the world and that it will checkmate and so it did when the time came. According to them, Turkey is going a bit too far. Among them were people who said how can we destroy Turkey and how can we obstruct their advancing progress. They began to do so now as they did during our strong times in the past. Unfortunately, they made calculations of chaos as to whether they can win by removing democracy and by removing terror what they couldn't gain with democracy inside and outside, and whether they can remove what they couldn't gain by the ballot box instead with incidents such as Gezi events and parallel forces.

WE HAVE TO DISRUPT THE GAMES PLAYED ON TURKEY AS A NATION

Stating that they are trying to destroy Turkey with various social acts, GNAT Deputy President Aydın said: "They made calculations as to how they can stop Turkey's progress with plots of coup, Gezi events, closing parties, December 17-25 events, public demonstrations by reason of Kobane in various aspects. However, as long as they have a strong government against them and a strong leader, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and as long as these integrate with the public, this nation disrupted all these games devised against it. Today, dear fellows, we have to disrupt all games played against us. We don't know whether integration will be achieved on the top, although it has to. However, we on the basis, as the nation, have to ensure unity."

OUR HEADS OF NEIGHBORHOODS ARE ONE OF THE THREE AUTHORITIES ELECTED BY PEOPLE

Mentioning that heads of neighborhoods play a major role in local governance, Fatih Mayor Mustafa Demir said: "We attach great significance to our Heads of Neighborhoods. There is the state's mechanism, and there is the nation's mechanism. If we consider state's mechanism as a pyramid, on the top there is the President of the Republic, then as we descend there are local governments and head of neighborhood units. If we see that sequence as a whole, then we have true democracy. In our country, there are three authorities which our people elect by seeing and knowing, recognizing and supporting. The first, the nearest to the public, are the head of neighborhood. Therefore heads of neighborhoods are the most important step of democracy. The second is local governments and the third is the President. There are three authorities which are directly elected by the public".
