Studies have been started for Yeditepe Biennial, the First Biennial in Turkey in the field of Classical Turkish Arts

The first Yeditepe Biennial to be organized in cooperation with Fatih Municipality and Classical Turkish Arts Foundation and with the supports of important institutions and organizations of Turkey is being held under the tutelage of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey.

Yeditepe Biennial, the first biennial in the world in the field of Classical Turkish Arts will take place in Istanbul for 60 days with various activities between March 15 - May 15, 2018. With the biennial, it is aimed to share our country and its cultural, social, artistic values with the peoples of the world.

MAYOR DEMİR: ‘HISTORICAL PLACES IN FATIH WILL BE OF TOP PRIORITY’

Exhibitions, seminars, panels, conferences, open sessions, film screenings, music performances, interior and exterior installation works, workshop studies, programs to commemorate the doyens of traditional arts, introductory-complementary trips and visits will be organized within the scope of the biennial in which "Ehl-i Hiref" [artisans in ottoman empire] theme will be handled. Mayor of Fatih Mustafa Demir gave information that the historical places in the Historical Peninsula in Fatih will firstly be used for the programs to be carried out during the Biennial and said, “We are pleased to being home to such an important artistic activity in this geography, which was the capital of empires with 8500-year history. I would like to thank our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who has made us feel a great honor that is impossible to describe by taking Yeditepe Biennial, for which I believe that it will make significant contributions to the promotion of Classical Turkish Arts throughout the world, under their auspices, with my heartfelt gratitude”. Muhammed Emin Demirkan, one of the managers of the Classical Turkish Arts Foundation who spoke in the 1st Consultation Meeting of Yeditepe Biennial, stated that the aim of the foundations to serve the classical arts, which is the aim of foundation, is the main aim of this biennial at the same time.

Those who would like to present project to the biennial can reach biennial management through the website www.yeditepebienali.com or by sending their projects to proje@yeditepebienali.com. They can also get detailed information about the application on the same site. Project application can be made for the biennale, which is an important platform for exhibiting the ideas and works of universities, academicians, artists and students, until 31 July 2017.
