55th Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey started in front of Hagia Sophia in Sultanahmet Square.

55th Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey started in front of Hagia Sophia in Sultanahmet Square. Cyclists will pedal between İstanbul and Tekirdağ today for the first stage, attended by sports persons from 17 teams.

Traditionally held by Turkish Cycling Federation (TBF) since 1963 and organized under 'UCI World Tour', the world's major racing category for the last two years, Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey began. The start signal was given in Sultanahmet for the 'İstanbul - Tekirdağ' race, which marks the first stage of the tour. The start signal for TOUR 2019 was given by Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mevlüt Uysal, Fatih Municipality Mayor Ergün Turan and President of the Turkish Cycling Federation (TBF) Erol Küçükbakırcı.

Attended by sports persons from 17 teams, TOUR 2019's first day will see the cyclists race on a 156.7 kilometer long stage between İstanbul and Tekirdağ.

April 19: Balıkesir - Bursa (197 km)

April 20: Bursa - Kartepe (169 km)

April 21: Sakarya - İstanbul (176 km)

TOTAL DISTANCE COVERED: 1,013 km - İSTANBUL
