Amcazade Hüseyin Pasha Fountain Restored
Plant and surface cleaning was carried out within the scope of the repair works of Amcazade Hüseyin Pasha Fountain on Darüşşifa Street. In addition, ground colouring and gold leaf work was carried out on the inscriptions.
8 July 2024The fountain located on Darüşşifa Street in Haseki Sultan Neighbourhood has two inscriptions. It is understood from the construction inscription on the pointed arch on the front façade of the fountain that it was renovated in 1699 by Grand Vizier Hüseyin Pasha, the son of Hasan Agha, the younger brother of Köprülü Mehmed Pasha. In the three-line repair inscription located inside the pointed arch, it is learnt that it was repaired by Abdul Hamid II in 1901. It is known that the fountain built of cut stone has a large reservoir. Within the scope of the repair works of the fountain built in classical style, plant and surface cleaning with appropriate mechanical and chemical methods, ground colouring and gold leaf work on the inscriptions were carried out.
