POLICE OFFICERS EXPLAINED THE “HAYDİ” APPLICATION

The teams of the Community Policing Branch of the Istanbul Police Department were among those who visited the Fatih Municipality Yedikule Animal Shelter on the occasion of October 4th World Animal Day. After lovingly feeding the animals in the shelter, the teams provided information to the visitors about the Animal Condition Monitoring (HAYDİ) application released by the Ministry of Interior. They also informed the citizens about the measures taken by the police department against animal rights violations.

“WE ASK THEM TO VISIT THE SHELTERS FREQUENTLY”

Meral Olcay, the volunteer manager of Fatih Municipality Yedikule Animal Shelter, said: “We organize these activities to instill a love of animals in our new generation children. 20 schools and 1500 students participated. This is a source of pride for us. We ask them to visit the shelters frequently. We want them to adopt the animals in the shelter. Animals and children emit positive energy. No one is afraid the animals. This means that people are only afraid of the unknown.”

STUDENTS FED THE ANIMALS AROUND THEM

Fatih Municipality Health Affairs Directorate teams distributed food for stray animals at designated points throughout the district. Prepared food packages were presented to students at Fatih Municipality libraries and Information Houses, and the students, accompanied by their teachers, fed the animals around them.
