Fatih Municipality won the Inspiring Public Project award at the 23rd Public Quality Symposium organised by the Ankara Branch of Turkish Society for Quality (KALDER).

At the 23rd Public Quality Symposium organised by the Ankara Branch of the Turkish Society for Quality (KALDER), we, as Fatih Municipality, won the 2023 Inspiring Public Project Award with our "Strategic Decision System Project" in the Local Government Category.

What is Strategic Decision Support System?

The "Fatih Municipality Strategic Decision System" project, in which Fatih citizens are at the core, their ideas and demands are taken as the main data source, and all data obtained from other institutions and organisations are dynamically synthesised and input to strategies and policies, has been developed to implement and make sustainable the participatory management approach within our institution.

The main purpose of the ongoing project, which has been implemented since November 2021, is to create an ecosystem in which the ideas and demands of Fatih citizens will provide input to projects and activities. The main data source of the Strategic Decision Support System is the expectations of citizens. For this reason, a "Mayoral Field Team" of 15 people consisting of sociologists, psychologists and social service specialists has been established and household-based visits are being carried out. Executive Display Panels were designed by integrating with the Geographical Information System in order to dynamically monitor the data produced as a result of the surveys conducted with citizens and on-site observation method in the field and to provide input to the strategies and policies to be produced. Through the "Strategic Decision Support System", which is the projection of the proactive management approach, the interactive governance model with citizen participation is being carried out in a sustainable manner.
