Historical Ahırkapı District of Cankurtaran Quarter Regains Its Former Identity

Fatih Municipality's façade rehabilitation works continue unabated. After the façades of Yedikule, Küçükmustafapaşa, Sancaktar, Kiremit Street, Haliç, Lonca and Zeyrek, work has started in Ahırkapı to preserve the historical texture.

Façade Rehabilitation Projects aiming to conserve the opulent historical texture of Fatih together with its residents and prepared with the aim of preserving the urban identity and ensuring sustainability are carried out by the relevant directorates of Fatih Municipality. The network of rehabilitation and maintenance and repair works is expanding day by day in order to extend the lifespan of many civil architectural historical buildings in the region. In the façade rehabilitation works carried out in order to conserve the historical texture of Ahırkapı and to highlight the special architectural character of the region, building façade surveys are prepared by laser scanning method, and they are then complemented by our colour experts by selecting colours suitable for the character of the region with 3D modelling technique. In addition, additions (awnings, signboards, air conditioners, etc.) are removed from the façades of the buildings and the buildings regain their original form after they are cleared of their attachments.
