On the 500th year of the Piri Reis World Map, Piri Reis Award to Fatih Municipality

International Smart Infrastructure and Geographical Information Systems Congress (SEGIS 2013) by Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, Directorate General of Geography Information Systems and Piri Reis Map, Real Estate, and CBS (Geographical Information System) Association in order to promote better the successful projects realized using Geographical Information Systems that advance the modern understanding of today, to encourage investment in this field, and to create an agenda was organized on November 22nd – 23rd, 2013 in Istanbul. The “Piri Reis Awards” given in the scope of the congress is the first organization in this area in Turkey. The fact that “Piri Reis Awards” were given on the 500th year of the Piri Reis World Map made the awards more significant.

Fatih Municipality received “Piri Reis Awards” in Urban Information Systems category with its Geographical Information System as the best application infrastructure.
