Saliha Sultan Fountain Regained Water
Plant and surface cleaning was conducted employing suitable mechanical and chemical methods in the scope of repair works at Saliha Sultan Fountain. In addition, joints of stones were renewed and the integrity of the fountain was ensured and plastic repair works were completed.
18 March 2024Saliha Sultan Fountain is situated at the corner of Yedi Emirler Çeşmesi Street and Silivrikapı Avenue. The fountain is known to be built by mother of Sultan Mahmud the First, Saliha Sultan in 1726. The corners of the three-faced fountain were softened with hourglass colonnades and two small fountains with marble Rumi crowns were placed on the side facades. The marble ornamental slab and construction inscription attract attention on the plain, pointed-arched façade of the fountain, which was built of cut limestone. Basin of the fountain is covered with a finial dome.

Metal hooks of the wooden eaves that is now disappeared were painted following corrosion cleaning. Background coloring and gold leaf work on the inscriptions were completed.
