“Silent Scream of Gaza: Art Tells the Truth” Exhibition at Fatih Culture and Arts Center
Fatih Culture and Arts Center hosts “Silent Scream of Gaza: Art Tells the Truth” exhibition of renowned Iranian cartoonist and curator Massoud Shojai Tabatabai. The exhibition aims to describe through art the tragedy unfolding in Gaza and the cruel face of war.
31 October 2024The artist’s passion for art made him a figure casting light on social events with his illustrations. Born in Tehran in 1964, Massoud Shojai Tabatabai started studying art at Tehran University Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting and specialized in graphic design to express social events with his art. As the executive editor of Kayhan Caricature magazine, Tabatabai gained a significant ground in his career and became the director of Iran Cartoon House to contribute to artistic accumulation of his country. Next to this esteemed career, he became a well-known artist in international platforms with his membership in Asia-Pacific Animation and Cartoon Books Union.
Creations of Tabatabai include works that have not only esthetic, but also deep meanings and present a critical perspective. “Silent Scream of Gaza” exhibition at Fatih Culture and Arts Center invite visitors to face the humanitarian tragedy that has been unfolding in Gaza. Tabatabai served as a juror at prestigious competitions organized in many different countries including Türkiye, Cuba, China, Syria, Greece, and Brazil while also acting as a curator at various international activities to introduce unifying power of art to the world. In his career crowned with awards, the artist who won the first prize at activities such as the 8th International Animal Cartoon Competition in Serbia and Syria Cartoon Competition is accepted as one of the most prominent names in the cartoon world.
