Sports and Entertainment Festival for People with Disabilities at Canoe and Rowing Sports Center

Fatih Municipality’s 3rd Traditional Sports and Entertainment Festival for People with Disabilities was held at the Golden Horn Canoe and Rowing Sports Center.

The 3rd Traditional Sports and Entertainment Festival for People with Disabilities, held at the Fatih Municipality Canoe and Rowing Sports Center, attracted great interest. Some of the approximately 400 children participating in the festival played games such as bocce and curling, while others played table tennis, football and shot arrows. Mehmet Ergün Turan, Mayor of Fatih Municipality, and Birol Aydın, President of the Turkish Special Athletes Sports Federation, also attended the festival. Speaking about the festival, Mr. Turan emphasized that the state was doing its best to eliminate the disadvantages related to people with disabilities. Mayor Turan continued his speech with the following statements: "Fortunately, a lot has been done for the disabled in the last 20 years under the governments of our President, and will continue to be done. We are also pondering on how we can touch the lives of our disabled citizens or our young ones and we are carrying out a number of activities for this purpose."
