Tepedelen Fountain Street Has Been Renovated

Fatih Municipality Cultural Heritage Conservation Directorate continues its efforts to ensure the passing on of the identified civil architectural examples to future generations.

With the Traditional Wooden Building Workshop established within the Cultural Heritage Conservation Directorate, implementation works are being carried out in phases in wooden buildings located in Fatih and in need of maintenance and repair. On Tepedelen Fountain Street, which is located in the Zeyrek Mosque and Surrounding Conservation Area, which contains many registered wooden buildings, 5 registered buildings have been identified and maintenance and repair works have been carried out. Within the scope of maintenance and repair works, the load-bearing frame of the building has been strengthened and the decaying facade claddings have been renewed with original details. The joinery of the buildings, such as doors and windows, have been reproduced with traditional methods and original materials through archive searches or analogy technique.
