The Appearance of Sancaktar Slope Renewed

Fatih Municipality's facade rehabilitation works in Sancaktar Slope of Balat District, which has gained a colourful appearance and attracts a great deal of attention from visitors, have also been completed.

The Sancaktar Slope located in Balat District, which is a popular destination for local and foreign tourists with its historical texture and colourful streets, has gained a new appearance. The facade rehabilitation works carried out by Fatih Municipality within the scope of the conservation programme to enhance the economic and social dynamism of the region have come to the end. Building facade surveys were prepared by using laser scanning method in the facade rehabilitation works carried out in order to preserve the historical texture and maintain the architectural identity specific to the region, especially for the Sancaktar Slope. Additions and elements of insignificant character visible on the facades of the buildings were removed and relocated to the roofs of the buildings. The colours used on the facades of the buildings were determined by colour experts after which the painting process was carried out. Finally, the sign boards in the region were arranged in accordance with the sign board regulation.
