The “Second Traditional Cake Contest” where Mayor Turan also Attended was Organized at Neslişah Sultan Cultural Center

The “Second Traditional Cake Contest” was organized by KARINCA Handicraft Training Unit at Neslişah Sultan Cultural Center with attendance of Fatih Mayor M. Ergün Turan. Mayor Turan made a wish that they would come together at the contest once again next year with the support of his fellow townsmen.

Organized by KARINCA Handicraft Training Unit, the “Second Traditional Cake Contest Center” was organized with attendance of Fatih Mayor M. Ergün Turan. Mayor Turan said the cakes baked by skilled hands in the contest were each more delicious than the other and congratulated participants of the Second Traditional Cake Contest and the cake masters who were awarded. He also made with that they would come together at the context once again next year with their continuing support in Fatih.

In the contest that was organized in a total of 3 categories initially model cakes describing cultural assets of Fatih and bouquets of Istanbul tulips made from fondant were assessed by the jury. Afterwards an interactive contest was organized and chefs made a rolling out dough show. In 3 sessions the participants hand stretched the thinnest untorn dough in turns. Those that ranked the top 3 in the first 2 categories were awarded and in the interactive category the winner of each session received an award. Participants found the contest very interesting.
