"We Need to Talk about Palestine" Theatre Staged at FKSM

The theatre performance "We Need to Talk about Palestine" staged at Fatih Culture and Art Centre sought to create a reaction against Israel's occupation of the people of Gaza.

The play "We Need to Talk about Palestine", which focuses on the issue of Palestine, tells the trauma experienced in the occupied territories. The play, which focuses on the experiences of Palestinian Maryam, whose window opens to Al-Aqsa Mosque, begins with the occupier Israel's desire to buy her house. Despite the high amounts, Maryam's refusal to be persuaded leads to the attacks of the occupiers. Faced with the cuts in electricity and water, the barricades set up around her house and the rubbish dumped at her door, Maryam shows her resistance by locking herself in her house. Throughout the play, Maryam tries to hold on to life by talking to her flowers and birds about everything she has been through. Forced to confront her biggest trauma, Maryam goes through a great internal struggle in the process of confronting her own reality.

The play "We Need to Talk about Palestine" focuses on the Palestinian issue and reveals to the audience the impact of the trauma experienced in those lands on people.
