We Participated in the 8th Heritage İstanbul Fair as Fatih Municipality
We, as Fatih Municipality, participated in Heritage İstanbul Fair organized for the 8th time this year. Our stand was visited by Mr. M. Ergün Turan, Mayor of Fatih Municipality, Mr. Davut Gül, Governor of İstanbul and Mr. Musa Işın, Governor of Kütahya. Mayor Turan emphasized that the fair has an important role in preserving the awareness regarding cultural heritage.
15 May 2024Heritage İstanbul, Türkiye’s first and only international cultural heritage fair and conference, kicked off at Lütfi Kırdar Convention and Exhibition Center with an overwhelming turnout. Our stand was visited by Mr. M. Ergün Turan, Mayor of Fatih Municipality, Mr. Davut Gül, Governor of İstanbul and Mr. Musa Işın, Governor of Kütahya. Mayor Turan stated that Heritage İstanbul Fair was an important organization for raising awareness of cultural heritage and its conservation in our country. He also noted that all his fellow citizens can visit the fair until Friday, May 17th.

Organized with the main sponsorship of CoinTR, the event serves as an important platform by bringing together local and foreign industry stakeholders. Throughout the event, a diverse program is offered with conferences, "Heritage Talks", workshops and B2B meetings. Organized with the support of important public institutions such as the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye, General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums, Investment Monitoring and Coordination Presidency of the Governorship of İstanbul and Marmara Municipalities Union, the fair provides the opportunity for taking significant steps for the conservation of cultural heritage and raising awareness.
In this year's conference series, important figures such as Princess Dana Firas, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Cultural Heritage and President of ICOMOS Jordan, Prof. Dr. Marc-André Renold, a Professor of Law at the University of Geneva, and Zeynep Boz, Head of the Anti-Smuggling Department of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums. Topics such as "Kozo to Japanese Paper Life Cycle" and "Climate Crisis and Museums" are discussed at the conferences.
CoinTR, the main sponsor of Heritage İstanbul, shares the details of the "Heritage to the Future" project at the event. CoinTR, a global digital asset and technology company with partners in the UK, China and Türkiye, announced that it supports projects to conserve cultural heritage and transfer them to the future. Within the scope of the event, military ammunition used by the Machinery and Chemical Industry during the National Struggle and the War of Independence are exhibited. With the İzmir Time Machine project, participants have the opportunity to take a three-dimensional journey through the 8500-year history of İzmir. The Çanakkale Wars Gallipoli Historical Site Directorate also takes part in the fair and provides detailed information about the restoration works it carries out. Many domestic and foreign companies introduce their innovative and sustainable technological developments in the fields of museology, librarianship and archaeology.
This year, Heritage İstanbul's promotional documents will feature the ancient city of Aizanoi. Located in Çavdarhisar district of Kütahya, Aizanoi, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List, attracts great attention with its important structures from the Roman period and the world's first known stock exchange. Heritage Istanbul offers a pleasant and educational experience for cultural heritage enthusiasts.
